It seems like just yesterday I was listening to Selema 'Sal' Masekela announce the X Games year after year. However, all great runs must come to an end-and lucky for us, at peak viewership, we've been blessed with another great voice to represent snowboarding. Craig McMorris is perfect in this role because he's an amazing snowboarder-a professional, actually. And for the last handful of years, he's been producing his own video projects, bringing in underrated, underfunded riders and helping these talents get the spotlight they deserve. It's impressive to see the commitment Craig brings to his projects. There's zero hesitation in booking flights across the country the day after a snowstorm-no matter the time of year, no matter the crew he's able to assemble-he's going. And you'd better believe he's going to make something special happen.

Park-lap partners:

Incredibly hard question. My favourite people to ride the park with are people who push me a little bit and are down to play games. I love playing 'set a trick' or calling a full line. Anybody who's willing to play a game or do something outside of their comfort zone is somebody that I love riding with.

Underrated riders:

I could talk at length on this one. I'm gonna start with Canada and then look outside of that. There are many talented rail riders who don't get the shine they deserve. I did a movie this year called Red Seal with Tanner Davidson and Adam Franks, and they are two of the most underrated snowboarders in the world. We had a lot of fun, and I'm excited for their footage to come out. Outside of Canada, definitely have to say Jordan Morse. He's been one of my favourites.

Favourite one-footer clips filmed:

All that goes to Bode Merrill. He has the best one-footers of all time. He invented the one-foot miller flip-I always loved his quarterpipe back flip to fast plant. Plus, his back seven Japan one-footed is a mind melter.

Places snowboarding has taken you:

I've been all over the world, but I think the most random place would be Sierra Nevada, Spain. I had to do a World Cup event there to qualify for the Olympics. But there are so many random spots I could choose.

Places commentary has taken you:

Even crazier-Tallinn, Estonia, for a random skate event and then Rio De Janeiro for the Summer Olympics.

Why growing up in the Prairies rules:

Growing up in the Prairies instilled a bit of grit in me, and I'm thankful for that. It made me go out and get it as opposed to staying in my own backyard. I also had access to so many opportunities in Saskatchewan. I was able to snowboard, wakeboard, and build fundamentals. The Prairies allowed for so much growth.

Favourite moments with the McMorris Foundation:

There have been standout moments since we started the McMorris Foundation. One that really resonates with me is talking to some of my old school teachers who were very present in my getting into sports and seeing the Foundation we created help some of the kids that they work with. That has been extremely rewarding.

Sports outside of snowboarding:

Literally any and all! I play hockey, softball, golf, tennis, spike ball, Iil' bit of skateboarding and barefootingl

What does the future of contest riding look like?:

That's an interesting one. I love where it's at right now, especially on the women's side. I just hope it doesn't go too far down the airbag path. One of the reasons halfpipe kinda died is because it became so inaccessible. I hope slopestyle doesn't go down like that.

What does the future of video part riding look like?:

There will always be a place for video parts in my mind. I don't see big videos having the impact they used to. But video parts are still super important. I want to see more rider-funded projects as well.
