Slackcountry Cup 2025 | Recap + Gallery
The 11th annual Slackcountry Cup at Baldy Mountain Resort was another epic celebration of snowboarding, and this year didn't disappoint. Held in the heart of southern BC's hidden gem, Baldy, the Cup has grown from the "Baldy Bare Essentials" into the Okanagan's must-attend snowboarding event. It's a weekend where shredders of all kinds gather to celebrate the culture, fun, and camaraderie of snowboarding—without taking things too seriously.

This year, 45+ riders showed up on the morning of March 15th, greeted by 40cm of fresh Okanagan champagne powder—perfect conditions for a weekend of action. The event kicked off with a Splitboard Race up Baldy's left side to the Eagle Chair, followed by a fast descent to the base. Rapheal Vezina set the pace with 44:01, while Liz Hodgson was the top female at 46:25.

Next up was the 4-man elimination slalom, presented by Pabst Canada. The new Sugar Lump boardercross course saw plenty of chaos (hello, fog!), but Connie Mackay came out on top for the ladies, winning a 99-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon. On the men's side, it came down to a photo finish between Charles Pratte and Carl Cowtan, but in true Canadian style, they split the beer 50/50!

Saturday wrapped up with a Rail Jam at Magic Carpet Park, where riders earned cash for tricks and impressed the judges with their creativity. Wyatt Anderson took the session win, while Baldy local Leo Munns put down some epic personal bests. It was rad to see riders from 10 to 40+ years old sharing the steel.
No Slackcountry Cup would be complete without a legendary night at the Baldy Bar—shoes were thrown, tables were danced on, and some unforgettable hangovers were expirenced.

Sunday brought perfect sunshine, just in time for an afternoon session at South Winds Park. Shoutout to Tyler Nichol for yet another stellar park build. The Bull Mountain crew was on fire, and Osker Klein, Noah Byers, and Charles Pratte were the standout riders of the day.

Finally, it was time to crown our King and Queen of Slackcountry. Charles Pratte earned the title of King, and Erynn Oleksyn took the title of Queen. Both scored $300 and prizes from our amazing sponsors.
