That's why The North Face has teamed up with Whistler Blackcomb for an opening day celebration for the ages, which we King Snow and our brothers at Forecast Ski are excited to partner with them on. Festivities include a mock Everest base camp in Whistler Village, a chance to camp overnight in the latest and greatest gear from The North Face (so you're well rested for first chair), prizes for simply skiing on the mountain (as if skiing on opening day isn't enough of a gift), and much, much more.

The North Face Activations Include Base Camp Celebration, Opening Day Gondola Campout Contest, and Explore, Scan & Win Contest

With early season storms delivering snow to the alpine, the anticipation for winter continues to build as skiers and snowboarders eagerly await their first turns of the season. Whistler Blackcomb is gearing up for another epic season kick off with Opening Day presented by The North Face. Whistler Blackcomb and The North Face invite snow lovers of all ages to join in celebrating the return of winter with a number of fun events, activations and contests to help fuel the stoke for the winter season ahead. The North Face activations include the Base Camp Celebration, an Opening Day Gondola Campout contest, and an Explore, Scan & Win contest.

The Base Camp Celebration officially kicks things off the evening before opening day. The North Face is recreating an expedition base camp in Skier’s Plaza near the Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola. Guests of all ages can join in the festivities from 7pm to 10pm featuring a beer garden for the 19+ crowd, s’mores, hot chocolate, campfire pods, live music, and plenty of prizes to go around.

For guests looking to elevate their opening day experience, The North Face Opening Day Gondola Campout contest provides the ultimate overnight camping experience. Participants can enter to win this camping experience online and in select The North Face retail locations in Whistler and Vancouver. Additionally, each winner gets to keep their entire The North Face camping set up.
