Rome Katana FASE Binding Review Video
It's going to be my new favourite resort binding.— Hoy
Rome Katana FASE Binding Basics
The Rome Katana FASE is built for all-mountain riding, blending high-speed carving power, low-speed agility, and dependable shock absorption. Featuring the revolutionary Fast Entry System, it allows for quick, one-handed strapping in.
At the heart of the Katana FASE is the AutoBack—a hands-free entry system that automatically closes as your boot slides in and opens when it’s time to unstrap. For added convenience, the AutoBack folds flat for skating, riding lifts, or storage.
Complementing this is the FastStrap, an extended ladder design that stays connected for ultra-fast, one-handed entry. Paired with classic ratchets for precise tension adjustments, the FastStrap works seamlessly with the AutoBack for the quickest, most efficient setup yet.
The AsymWrap platform delivers a surfy, responsive feel with maximum board connection and tweakability, while the Forward Lean Adjuster offers three customizable positions for dialing in heelside response.
Finally, the UltraFlex Pro Ankle Straps—powered by AuxTech®—provide a locked-in hold with superior comfort and performance, keeping you secure no matter where you ride.

Rome Katana FASE Binding Test Notes
The Rome Katana Binding is my favourite binding in the line and the Rome FASE Katana binding feels exactly the same as the original. The new FASE system offers a little bit more convenience, and it's going to be my new favourite resort binding, with the high back locks in automatically. When you step into the binding, while it's really responsive front to back, it still has a little bit of play side to side, so you can still tweak grabs and get those surfy turns. Setting the binding up is easy. It is still a strap binding. It doesn't lose that status, but instead of the normal Katana foot tray, you have a little screw there, so that's the only difference between this one and the normal Katana. I ride a size nine boot and I rode the medium binding, and it was a perfect fit right out of the box. My three favourite characteristics are that it's lightweight, it looks good, and it's super convenient.
Pros
- Unmatched Adjustability for Personalized Fit
- Excellent Board Feel and Responsiveness
- Comfort, Durability with Convenience
Cons
- Not Cheap
