"It feels nice and solid. You don't feel any pressure points, so it just disappears once it's on your head."
Smith Method Helmet Basics
The Smith Method is a brand-new helmet for 2024. The low profile and clean style in mould construction fuse the exterior shell and EPS for a one-piece design that's lightweight and durable. Beneath the shell are the latest safety innovations, including zonal choroid coverage for lightweight energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection and the Mips brain protection system for reducing rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head. It also features eight fixed vents for consistent airflow, a goggle-compatible air evac ventilation system for fog, free lenses—and removable ear pads. The lifestyle fit system flexes to match the shape of your head for ultimate comfort. The Method helmet can be worn with or without a beanie and is compatible with Aleck audio systems, sold separately.

Smith Method Helmet Test Notes
"First impressions. It is lightweight and has a nice, clean look. There's not too much crazy vent or anything going on, so it's just a nice, clean kind of classic look. I have a medium-sized head, so when I put it on it felt comfortable. I like that this helmet was clean and simple. It doesn't have BOA or anything crazy happening on it, so when you put it on, it just integrates with your head. It feels nice and solid. You don't feel any pressure points, so it just disappears once it's on your head. They do their own retention system in this helmet, which works quite well, especially if you want to wear your goggles underneath the helmet. It doesn't take up any extra space, and it also has Mips, so there is additional protection there. I paired this helmet with some Smith Mag goggles and found it worked well if you wanted the goggle strap underneath the helmet or over top of the helmet. I ran it without the ear flaps because it's a little cooler. Yeah, it still fit and integrated quite nicely, and everything. So, if you're looking for a clean-looking, lightweight skate-style helmet, this is the one." —Jon
