Beaver Valley Banked Slalom 2025 | Recap + Video
The vibes were high for this year’s annual gathering of the Ontario snowboard community. Over a thousand riders, industry peeps, friends and family closed out the season in celebration of snowboarding style, culture and good times.
This year's event offered something for everyone. The morning was anchored by a sold out Banked Slalom featuring 360 participants duelling in side-by-side, parallel banked courses. The afternoon shifted to the Vans Pro-Am Rail Jam & So Hip Best Method.
Over 100 riders, from groms to pros, took advantage of the iconic Vans x OJO Rail Jam set-up with "DJ Twan" spinning tracks on-snow. A super-sized hip boosted methods 50 feet high above the party deck. It made for an action packed day.
A live performance by the band "Seek No Approval," along with DJ "Shane L.S. Dennis," energized the Jagermeister Apré for the hundreds of party deck spectators.
In the Banked event, Beaver Valley World Cup rider Michael Nazwaski recorded the fastest overall time for the fourth year in a row. Mackenzie Hamilton scored the fastest women's run. Beaver Valley's Kingston Hafermehl topped the Super Groms with the quickest time of the day. Burton rep Magnus Hambleton won the Union Bindings Industry category.
There were so many standouts in the Vans Rail Jam and Best Method contests, but when the slush settled, Sam Perotin claimed the Pro Men Rails title followed by Quin Ellul and Chris Fellner. Pro Women Rail winners were Gracie Gordon with Ayden Swan and Dani Brown close behind. Best Method podium was topped by Eric Brown, ahead of Joel Vachon and Colin Konings.
For the 11th year in a row, the event raised over $20,000 in memory of Beaver Valley snowboarder Jacki Snarr with proceeds going to the Dillon OJO Foundation, the local Markdale hospital and Jackie Snarr Snowboard Support fund.
