RED SEAL | Craig McMorris, Adam Franks, and Tanner Davidson
New flick courtesy of one of the hardest working people in snowboarding, Craig McMorris. 'RED SEAL' is one of two films Craig has debuting this fall, co-created alongside filmmaker Seb Judge. Craig has been loyal to the steel for some time now, so he had to fill the rest of the roster out with some veteran talent. Tanner Davidson and Adam Franks answered the call and got into the mix.
As you may know, you need to dedicate some serious hours to get your Red Seal. It's the official recognition of a tradesperson's competency; it proves that you actually know what you're doing. The name for the project naturally came to Seb upon drawing parallels between filming snowboarding and working a skilled craft. The connection inevitably became apparent during filming, as Tanner Davidson is a Red Seal electrician, and Adam Franks owns his own business. Although Craig undoubtedly has his hands full, gearing up to host the Olympic broadcast on CBC in Winter 2026, he chirps in an interview with Snowboarder that "(Tanner and Adam) work a lot harder than I do."
The tight-knit crew clocked in for only three weeks, but the quality and quantity of clips speak for their shared work ethic, grinding out early morning spots and late-night builds to make the most of limited time. When you're filming snowboarding, you're a tradesperson, of sorts. Based on the footage, we can confidently say these guys are deserving of such acknowledgement.
