SCUFF by micro snowboarding | Video + Premiere Recap
Ah, micro snowboarding! For this Alberta-based crew, the size of the spot doesn't matter. They bring the idea of filming street snowboarding down to an approachable level, facilitating a genuinely inclusive space. Despite what some might say, there really aren't any rules to this shit, so take notes from micro and do whatever you want. For their latest audio-visual offering, 'Scuff', micro snowboarding founders Will Fraser and Dan Zimmerman tapped in artist and designer, Charlton Diaz, to create on-screen visuals and a corresponding physical art exhibition. Get into the video, and then take a virtual stroll through the gallery space alongside some words from Will and Dan. Creativity is key, and micro has the door unlocked.

MOVIE PREMIERE AND ART EXHIBITION | Edmonton, AB Oct. 24th, 2025

For micro’s newest release, Scuff, we enlisted the help of artist and designer Charlton Diaz to create both on-screen visuals and a physical art exhibition. The collaboration between us (Will Fraser and Dan Zimmerman) and Charlie culminated in a video premiere and exhibition at Edmonton’s Soft Gallery on a crisp fall evening. Usually home to solo shows by emerging visual artists, Soft was packed with fans of contemporary art and contemporary snowboarding. We kicked off the evening with speeches and heartfelt thanks to the Edmonton and Alberta snowboarding community. After the premiere of Scuff, we cut the ribbon to officially open the art exhibition. The gallery itself featured handmade silkscreened Scuff prints, custom stickers by Charlton Diaz, and two readymade pieces—a modified detergent bottle on a spinning plinth and a spray bottle branded with micro snowboarding. The show also featured selected photographs from the upcoming micro zine Scuff, released in collaboration with Nowhere Fast Studio. After the gallery opening, we played Atlas 2 by 686 and Paid Programming’s Red Ribbon to a raucous and fired-up crowd. These movies are next level. Thank you to Dustin Adams from Doing Business and Dan Anderson from Kingpin Agency for the many hookups and giveaways. Additional thanks to Jarett Fleming from Pabst Blue Ribbon for the PBRs and prizes.
